Just when we thought we had enough remastered collections of the Kingdom Hearts games, Square Enix had other thoughts in mind. The company unexpectedly but not surprisingly announced that there will be another Kingdom Hearts ReMIX, which includes all the games and movies from the 1.5 and 2.5 ReMIXES. This gigantic collection is going to be released on the PlayStation 4. Ever since the 1.5 ReMIX was released on the PlayStation 3 in 2013, fans have been speculating if the Kingdom Hearts games are gonna be released on the PS4. Hopes were slowly declining as the 2.5 ReMIX was also released on the PS3 the following year. Then with the announcement of 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, many fans accepted that the other games were not gonna be available on the PS4. There were some, however, that still had hope for another ReMIX, and behold they got it.

I really don’t know how to feel about this. On one hand, I’m happy that this collection is coming because many people can play the games that they haven’t experienced, and pretty much all the games are pivotal to the series’ storyline. On the other hand, I’m disappointed that resources are being used for this collection, and this could be another reason why Kingdom Hearts III is taking so long to develop. Now with two collections coming out next year, I’m beginning to think Kingdom Hearts III won’t come out until early 2018. Hopefully, that won’t be the case, but I doubt it.

As a loyal fan of the series, I basically have the obligation to buy this ReMIX even though I already own the 1.5 and 2.5 ReMIX collections. What makes me wonder about this collection is what new features will it have, if any that is. The other ReMIXES only had the games and movies but nothing else. I think it would be cool if the developers add commentaries or behind-the-scene videos. It adds another reason for old and new fans to buy this collection.

Before the collection was announced, my roommate and I were discussing the price range of a collection that features all, if not most, Kingdom Hearts games. We stated that it will be at least $40, and that the maximum price will be $90. With so much content in one package, the 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX will cost $50! That’s a very reasonable price, especially for gamers who haven’t played Kingdom Hearts. The ReMIX comes out this coming March of 2017, which is also the 15th anniversary of the series! Any Kingdom Hearts fans out there? What are your thoughts about this ReMIX? Any gamers interested in checking this out? Leave your thoughts below!
